How you can, and really SHOULD leave a toxic boss

November 18, 2019

toxic boss

I recently started working for a new company. New boss new role, new people and more importantly, new atmosphere, which is amazing by the way. I forgot what it was like to work in such a nurturing, friendly and cohesive workplace. My boss trusts me, he puts in a genuine interest in my well being, in all the staff. He trusts us. He is kind. But when you have experienced a toxic boss or manager before, your walls are up, afraid for something new, waiting for the other shoe to drop if it’s too good to be true. You expect all work environments to be riddled with anxiety, the stomach twisting fear ... Read More...

How to tell your boss that you have to miss work again, because your kid is sick. Again.

May 22, 2018

How to tell your boss that you have to miss work again, because your kid is sick. Again. You’re at work, and your phone rings. You reluctantly look to see the caller ID. If you have to miss work one more time because your kid is sick, you are pretty sure you're fired.... It’s your child's daycare. ‘No, no, no, no, no, no!!! NO!’ you think. Please do NOT be sick again. I cannot miss another day of work. You contemplate not answering. It’s not that you don’t want to run and pick up that sweet babe and snuggle and nurse them back to health. Because every ounce of you does. But the idea that ... Read More...

How to look like you have it together, when really you’re a hot mess

April 17, 2018

HOW TO LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE IT TOGETHER, WHEN REALLY YOU'RE A HOT MESS. My last blog I talked about how I am a hot mess mom and I don’t deny it. I own it.  But I wanted to do a separate post about how you can manage some little self care to ensure you feel confidant and look like “I’m a Mom who has a shit together” in the working world. There are little wins you can incorporate into your day that will give you a boost.  Blow Dry Bar Get a weekly blow out. Research some salons by your work, sacrifice a lunch hour o n a Monday or Tuesday and get a blow out. You can usually find some ... Read More...

Hi, I’m Erin!

Hi, I’m Erin!

Hey! I’m Erin. I’m a Mommy to 2 beautiful girls who also works full time and believe it or not, go to school part time. Because I thought I wasn’t busy enough with all that, I figured let’s really push my sanity and blog about my nonsense. This is a place of unapologetic truth. I LOVE being a Mommy, but I am human. I don’t glamorize that shit. I live in Canada, British Columbia for all you geographically correct Mofo’s. I love Wine, my kids, Bubble bath and ‘me’ time. Ie: folding laundry while watching Netflix.

The ‘M’ Word: Miscarriage

Miscarriage. Pregnancy loss. Chemical pregnancy. Still born. You peed on the stick. You saw that pink line. Pregnant.  Maybe you were overjoyed, and it was welcome. Maybe it was a shock and fear and panic ran through you, but once the shock settled ... Read More...
