The Accidental Surrogate: Part 3

August 3, 2018

Darcie was 18 weeks on July 22nd. Due Date: Dec 23 Halfway done She is almost halfway through, and she cannot get over how fast this has gone, but yet her December due date seems lifetimes away.  Her tummy protrudes now, there is no hiding anything anymore. Figuring out her wardrobe, where she feels confident and looks appropriate is a daily struggle. She is starting to feel the flutters of movement but no full blown movement yet. And she is emotional; flying off from happy, to extreme sadness in a moments notice. She feels absolutely bat shit crazy. Over analyzing, over thinking, ... Read More...

How to tell your boss that you have to miss work again, because your kid is sick. Again.

May 22, 2018

How to tell your boss that you have to miss work again, because your kid is sick. Again. You’re at work, and your phone rings. You reluctantly look to see the caller ID. If you have to miss work one more time because your kid is sick, you are pretty sure you're fired.... It’s your child's daycare. ‘No, no, no, no, no, no!!! NO!’ you think. Please do NOT be sick again. I cannot miss another day of work. You contemplate not answering. It’s not that you don’t want to run and pick up that sweet babe and snuggle and nurse them back to health. Because every ounce of you does. But the idea that ... Read More...

My Hypothetical Mommy (Moms everywhere before kids)

December 22, 2017

I have to laugh at myself and give my head a good solid shake. And as you read this, even if you are the purest and strictest of all moms, you will have a relatable moment. But, remember us before kids? When we would adamantly state that our future kids would never stay up late or never watch tv. They would never embarrass you with a tantrum in a store. How fucking funny is that shit now? I look back at that woman fondly as my “hypothetical” mom self. So, in light of mom shaming everywhere, I am going to shame myself. Because for 1, shaming is horrible and I believe a form of bullying and ... Read More...

Hi, I’m Erin!

Hi, I’m Erin!

Hey! I’m Erin. I’m a Mommy to 2 beautiful girls who also works full time and believe it or not, go to school part time. Because I thought I wasn’t busy enough with all that, I figured let’s really push my sanity and blog about my nonsense. This is a place of unapologetic truth. I LOVE being a Mommy, but I am human. I don’t glamorize that shit. I live in Canada, British Columbia for all you geographically correct Mofo’s. I love Wine, my kids, Bubble bath and ‘me’ time. Ie: folding laundry while watching Netflix.

How you can, and really SHOULD leave a toxic boss

I recently started working for a new company. New boss new role, new people and more importantly, new atmosphere, which is amazing by the way. I forgot what it was like to work in such a nurturing, friendly and cohesive workplace. My boss trusts me, ... Read More...

The ‘M’ Word: Miscarriage

Miscarriage. Pregnancy loss. Chemical pregnancy. Still born. You peed on the stick. You saw that pink line. Pregnant.  Maybe you were overjoyed, and it was welcome. Maybe it was a shock and fear and panic ran through you, but once the shock settled ... Read More...
