The Accidental Surrogate: The Final Chapter

February 17, 2019

The Last Chapter She didn't have a birth plan. There was no zen music, no requests or preference on anything except to get this baby out. So on Christmas Eve, when the doctor mentioned the baby's heart rate was dropping and the word C-section was mentioned, she didn't hesitate or argue. It was go time. This was the last chapter. I am jumping ahead a bit. The last week of Darcie's pregnancy was the straw on the camel's back. She was done. Emotionally. Physically. Mentally. Just done. At 39 weeks she had a check up with her OB and it was decided that they would induce her on her due ... Read More...

Pregnancy surrogate

Part 4 This is an overdue update! Darcie’s due date is Dec 23rd, and this update was suppose to be published a few weeks ago! Better late than never. So here goes…. One Month Left With one month left in Darcie’s pregnancy, things are rather...normal? As normal as it CAN be when you are pregnant with a one night stand baby, and having your brother adopt her, also while going through a divorce and becoming roommates with your ex husband! Whew, deep breath. Darcie is feeling great, amazing actually. She looks at her body and yes, she has stretch pains, swollen ankles and ... Read More...

The Accidental Surrogate: Part 3

August 3, 2018

Darcie was 18 weeks on July 22nd. Due Date: Dec 23 Halfway done She is almost halfway through, and she cannot get over how fast this has gone, but yet her December due date seems lifetimes away.  Her tummy protrudes now, there is no hiding anything anymore. Figuring out her wardrobe, where she feels confident and looks appropriate is a daily struggle. She is starting to feel the flutters of movement but no full blown movement yet. And she is emotional; flying off from happy, to extreme sadness in a moments notice. She feels absolutely bat shit crazy. Over analyzing, over thinking, ... Read More...

Hi, I’m Erin!

Hi, I’m Erin!

Hey! I’m Erin. I’m a Mommy to 2 beautiful girls who also works full time and believe it or not, go to school part time. Because I thought I wasn’t busy enough with all that, I figured let’s really push my sanity and blog about my nonsense. This is a place of unapologetic truth. I LOVE being a Mommy, but I am human. I don’t glamorize that shit. I live in Canada, British Columbia for all you geographically correct Mofo’s. I love Wine, my kids, Bubble bath and ‘me’ time. Ie: folding laundry while watching Netflix.

The ‘M’ Word: Miscarriage

Miscarriage. Pregnancy loss. Chemical pregnancy. Still born. You peed on the stick. You saw that pink line. Pregnant.  Maybe you were overjoyed, and it was welcome. Maybe it was a shock and fear and panic ran through you, but once the shock settled ... Read More...
