The Accidental Surrogate: Part 3

August 3, 2018

Darcie was 18 weeks on July 22nd.
Due Date: Dec 23

Halfway done

She is almost halfway through, and she cannot get over how fast this has gone, but yet her December due date seems lifetimes away.  Her tummy protrudes now, there is no hiding anything anymore. Figuring out her wardrobe, where she feels confident and looks appropriate is a daily struggle. She is starting to feel the flutters of movement but no full blown movement yet. And she is emotional; flying off from happy, to extreme sadness in a moments notice.

She feels absolutely bat shit crazy.

Over analyzing, over thinking, not thinking enough, what did that mean, what did THEY mean? Her head hurts. Her body is tired.

However, she has been lucky with no morning sickness, no complications and just 1 cold so far in this pregnancy. Her health is on her side and for that, she is thankful.

A moment of honesty please.

If she could be brutally honest for a moment, as she hopes this series can offer her at least that. She doesn’t like being pregnant. (mic drop?) But wait a minute. There are LOTS of women who do not enjoy being pregnant. Hate it even. It doesn’t make anyone less of a woman, less of a mother or human being. So before y’all start the crazy train judging through your monitors. Just….think logically for a moment.

Divorce

She is navigating through a divorce as well. Pregnant. Not with her ex-husbands baby. Darcie and her ex have been going through household items items, they have solidified their separation agreement, and are currently prepping the house to sell. Being pregnant is emotional enough, but going through all of that at the same time?  That takes the cake.

I asked her if she felt she had enough support or friends while she goes through this time. She states that some friends have become distant and also points out that many friends were mutual with her ex husband and people feel the need to pick sides and she said that, is more hurtful than having friends leave over her pregnancy. In either situation, it’s been eye opening to see her friends true colours. On the contrary though, she said there is one friend she has recently reconnected with which has been a positive thing in her life. Her close friends she has always had, have stayed just that.

The divorce is really playing a role on her emotions. Her ex is resentful of her situation and with them sharing a home until the house sells, he is having a hard time seeing her pregnant and watching her belly grow. The situation is toxic, not healthy at all really; with that she really stresses that she wants to move on. The tension in the home is palpable. She first thought at the beginning of all this that they may be able to be friends one day, but as the resentment and tension builds, the reality of that fades.

Back to baby!

Darcie had an anatomy scan on August 2nd. She has changed her mind and decided to find out the gender, solely for her nephews sake. He is just so damn excited about having a little brother or sister she says. She wants to be able to share in that excitement for him. She stands by her belief that there will be no attachment, regardless if she finds out gender or not.

The Baby Daddy

One thing that has been prevalent in this series and messages I have gotten directly are all about the Father. Who is he? What about him? What if XYZ? So, Let’s address all those head on right now.

The birth father is not in the picture. The very next day after their night together, Darcie cut ties after he clearly demonstrated traits of possessiveness and obsession, to the point where she immediately put her guard up and she made it clear with him that there was no future. No potential and she has not spoken to him since. She has since deleted her dating apps and they never exchanged last names.

Darcie has done her research, spoken to various professionals in the law industry and family lawyers. For those concerned that this man could come back and make a claim, is not a reality. The reality is, the father is unknown with the positive side being her Brother and family will get a beautiful baby to care for and bring into this world, surrounded by love.

Darcie would like to address readers to state: She is a woman who had a one night stand and ended up pregnant. She isn’t the only person this has happened to and in her story, this baby will be raised by her brother and sister in law. Other women in similar situations are either aborting or giving their babies up for adoption through the system. She feels good about her decision and the life she will be giving this baby.

Baby is a…..

Darcie went for her anatomy scan with her brother, sister in law and nephew altogether. Baby is healthy, right on track. Everyone was thrilled!

They found out that Darcie’s nephew with be getting a baby sister! He is so thrilled and Darcie’s Brother and Sister in law are over the moon in love, so excited to meet their little girl and make their family complete.

That’s it for now, until next time! Keep sending your questions/concerns via email and I will try to address them all in the next post.

I have so much respect for birth mothers and in the case “Darcie”. She is selfless and beautiful inside out. Unless you have walked in someone’s shoes you can never ever judge. What a blessing this baby will be for your entire family. Love to everyone

Let the haters hate. Absolutely NO one has to share why or how they got where, we dont owe anyone else ANY explanations about ANY life circumstance. There is no shame in having a one night stand, my own baby daddy might as well have been and I also left him because he started using meth roughly a month after we started dating and I found out I was pregnant with my son 2 weeks later. Im sorry Darcie is getting a divorce, but marriage is hard. My own husband has left me twice, NOT for any other woman, but his MOM (dont ask its weird.) I also hated being pregnant and was so sick with both my kids that I lost almost 50 lbs each. During my daughter’s delivery I had them tie my tubes, because even though Idve LOVED a big family, pregnancy is a biatch. I hope the next 2ish months go fast, and that all stays at least ok!!!! <3

Hi, I’m Erin!

Hi, I’m Erin!

Hey! I’m Erin. I’m a Mommy to 2 beautiful girls who also works full time and believe it or not, go to school part time. Because I thought I wasn’t busy enough with all that, I figured let’s really push my sanity and blog about my nonsense. This is a place of unapologetic truth. I LOVE being a Mommy, but I am human. I don’t glamorize that shit. I live in Canada, British Columbia for all you geographically correct Mofo’s. I love Wine, my kids, Bubble bath and ‘me’ time. Ie: folding laundry while watching Netflix.
